For my Phone Service Provider, it will take about 6 months to get up and running. I will be hoping that the unique features of the company will be enough to attract customers from their current phone provider to PCS1. Some of the unique features will be unified voicemail which will make communications life much simpler. If for some reason a customer will need another voicemail account – he can acquire another account to get that second voicemail. All accounts will support a maximum of 5 cellular, or SIP? lines. There will be little need for forwarding numbers with it just being a toll-free telephone number that would provide for 1,500 minutes.
In addition, there will be security features such as 2FA and number lock. With 2FA, the bad actor will need your 6 digit code that your phone’s authenticator app will generate every 30 seconds. The number lock will prevent the bad actor from contacting PCS1 and get your number ported to another company and on their SIM account.
There will be other benefits as well. First, all of your numbers will display your name in the CNAM information. This is much different than “Wireless Caller” that the carrier usually lazily apply to all phone numbers. By having accurate CNAM information, it would allow any customer with Caller ID+ to see that it is you calling even if they don’t have that number. For those that block their number from showing on caller ID can be sent to your unified voicemail to where they will have to leave a message in order for you to call them back.
There are a number of other features, even designed for the benefit of the caller. One example is SIP calling. Whether it is a home phone, or a cellular phone, every telephone number has a SIP address. This is turned off by default, but when turned on, anyone using a SIP provider will be able to call your SIP address, and reach you for free. Calling SIP accounts will be a little more complicated, and only offered on house phones, and speed dial only. If you don’t want to invest in a home phone line, then you can use a SIP client on your phone to make the call. You can set all incoming calls to go to voicemail by turning on DND.
My phone provider will have no physical stores. This is intended to reduce the operational cost. There will be an exception. Working with my PC company at their store, they will be able to sign up for phone services with their devices. The PDA? will support cellular data, and one might be able to see the results of having a cellular PDA, and how it can work for them. This is designed to combine the capabilities of both companies into a cohesive option.
One thing to note is I will assume that I will be responsible for the unified voicemail system. In addition, I will be responsible for directing 611 calls, and handle 411 transactions. A customer will be able to call 611 from their SIP line, and connect with customer support quickly and easily. This will allow technical support to be there no matter what device they need. There will also be a toll-free number available if the customer has to call from a phone not affiliated with my phone service provider.
